Play Park Rules

1. Booking & Payment

  • All sessions must be pre-booked and paid for in advance via 4pawspaddock.co.uk.

  • No shows or cancellations made within 48 hours of your session will not be refunded.

  • If you arrive late, your session will still end at the original time to avoid overlap with the next booking.

  • All sessions are for 50 minutes starting on the hour and finishing at 10 to the hour to avoid the chance of dogs meeting.

  • All customers and dogs must vacate the paddock and secure car park within their booking time. Overrunning of the booked time will result in refusal of future bookings, so please ensure this is adhered to for the safety of all dog park users.

  • 4 Paws Paddock operates in most weather conditions. Refunds or rescheduling due to weather are not available unless the paddock is unusable (e.g. flooding). We will notify you in such cases.

  • 4 Paws Paddock reserves the right to request that you leave the site if our rules are not followed. In such cases, fees will be forfeited and future bookings cancelled.

2. Access & Arrival Procedures

  • On Arrival by car - If the gates are open, please drive straight into the secure car parking area. Please keep your dog/s in the car until you have securely closed the gates. You will have been emailed the code before arrival and this needs to be entered to enable the gate to be securely closed. Once the gate is securely closed you have release your dog/s from the car to let them enjoy the play park. If you arrive and the gate to the secure car park is closed, please wait in your car in the designated waiting area until the previous customer has exited the secure car park. They will leave the gate open and you can then proceed into the secure car park and close the gate using the code before releasing your dog/s from your car.

  • Arriving by foot - If the gates are open please walk straight into the secure area, keeping your dog/s on a lead until you have securely closed the gates using the code which will have been emailed to you before letting your dog off the lead to enjoy the play park. If you arrive and the gate to the secure car park is closed, pleased wait on the footpath until the previous customer has exited the secure car park. They will leave the gate open and you can then proceed into the secure area and close the gate using the code before letting your dog off the lead.

  • On Departure - Please ensure you take any dog waste bags and litter with you. After putting your dog/s in your car or on a lead (if walking) enter the code on the gate to open them. Exit the dog park and leave the gates fully open for the next customer. If for any reason the code does not open the gate press the C button and enter the code again.

3. Dog Safety & Behaviour

  • Dogs must remain on a lead until inside the paddock and the gate is closed.

  • Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations and be regularly treated for fleas, worms, and ticks. If your dog has been unwell in the last 48 hours please do not use the play park.

  • Dogs must be kept under control at all times.

  • Do not allow your dog to dig in the paddock.

  • Keep barking to a minimum out of respect for our nearby residents.

  • 4 Paws Paddock is not liable for any dog escapes.

  • The person making the booking is responsible for any individuals or dogs accompanying them and must ensure all rules are followed.

  • Our permission from Torridge District Council allows for a maximum of 4 dogs in the play park. Any breach will result in future bookings being declined.

4. Banned Breeds

  • Under our public liability insurance banned breeds are welcome at 4 Paws Paddock but must adhere to the following guidance.

  • The dog is registered with the Index of Exempted Dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

  • A copy of the Public Liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

  • The dog is neutered- in line with Government rules.

  • The dog is microchipped.

  • If you own a dog currently on the banned breed list you must follow the requirements as set out below when using 4 Paws Paddock - these are additional Terms and Conditions for using the park with a banned breed. By booking to use 4 Paws Paddock you are agreeing to these terms:

  • You must have a certificate of exemption.

  • You must have public liability insurance.

  • The gate to the secure car park MUST be securely closed.

  • Your dog must be on a lead and muzzled until you are safely within the play park.

  • Once the gate is securely closed you may remove the lead and muzzle.

  • Dogs MUST be placed back on the lead and muzzled before leaving the play park.

  • Dogs on the banned breed list MUST be handled/walked on a 1-2-1 basis by someone 18 years old or over. (if the household has more than 1 dog, including more than 1 banned breed dog, they can come to the field together. There is no requirement for an extra handler).

5. Children & Supervision

  • The paddock is for use by adults (18+) only.

  • Children under 18 must be supervised at all times.

  • Children are not permitted to use or climb on agility equipment; it is designed for use by dogs only.

  • Always keep both dogs and children in sight.

  • Do not sit, lean, or climb on any fences, gates, or equipment.

6. Cleanliness & Waste

  • Dog waste bags are provided, please pick up after your dog and remove from the park.

  • Failure to clean up after your dog will result in future use being denied.

  • If you see dog waste that hasn't been collected, please notify us immediately.

  • Ensure your dog does not cause damage to the field, fencing, or equipment.

  • All rubbish (including food wrappers, bottles, etc.) must be taken with you.

7. General Site Rules

  • No smoking or vaping anywhere on-site, including the car park.

  • No drones or electric devices may be flown or operated in the paddock.

  • The dog wash tap must be turned off after use.

  • The ground may be uneven, therefore please wear suitable footwear.

  • You are liable for any damage or breakages caused during your session.

  • Please do not allow your dog to dig in the field.

  • No lighting of fires, BBQ's or any other naked flames.

8. Respect for Neighbours & Environment

  • Please be respectful of our neighbours and us-the paddock is next to a private residence.

  • Keep noise to a minimum (especially dog barking).

  • Please be aware that we are in the countryside and the surrounding land is used by local farmers.

  • Do not cause disturbance to the environment or local wildlife.

9. Security & Monitoring

  • The paddock is monitored by CCTV for your safety and to prevent misuse.

  • Data is collected via the CCTV to ensure the security of the premises and safety of all of our users at 4 Paws Paddock. Captured information is stored and uploaded to the cloud but is not shared with any other third party unless a breach has been identified and information has to be accessed for reporting purposes.

  • A 4 Paws Paddock risk assessment is undertaken annually inline with our public liability insurance.

10. Disclaimer

  • Use of 4 Paws Paddock is entirely at your own risk.

  • The owners accept no responsibility for injury to you, your dog(s), or your vehicle.

  • 4 Paws Paddock does not accept liability for any dog(s) escaping.

  • It is the owner's responsibility to ensure their dog(s) is/are secure, safe, and under control at all times.

  • Non adherence to the park rules will unfortunately mean future bookings will not be accepted.
